Mr. William S. Plemmons' Obituary
There will never be enough words nor paper to adequately describe what an amazing man William S Plemmons was. He was known and loved by so many. Children at church knew him as “candy man”. He always had candy in his pocket to give to kids, young and old. Over the years he must have given out thousands of pounds of candy. Most recently he was known as Santa Bill. As with anything he did, he did it amazingly well. He was a natural Santa. He always had a smile and hug for everyone. He didn’t even need to wear his Santa suite to be recognized. He had the biggest heart. Santa was known and loved by so many. Even the Baristas at Starbucks knew him. When he was no longer able to make the drive to Starbucks, I would make it for him. As soon as I placed the order the reply would be, “oh this is for Santa, tell him we said hi.” He never met a stranger and he never grew tired of sitting and talking for hours telling stories or his joke of the day.
He was also known as husband to our mother. He and my mother dated for 6 years and were married for 48. What an amazing example of love and commitment. Our mother could never have asked for a better husband. He would often come home with flowers for mother for no reason other than to say “I Love you.” He enjoyed buying the groceries and cooking dinner. If there were errands that needed to be completed he was always ready and willing. He was the perfect example of a Godly husband.
My sister and I were honored and blessed to call him “Daddy”. My favorite of all of his names. We are incredibly grateful God chose us to be his daughters. We had the best father any girl could ever ask for. He taught us how to love, how to live, how to forgive, and most importantly he taught us to love God. He lived by example and never led us astray. He was the perfect example of what a husband should be to their wife and what a father is to his children. My sister and I have so many fond memories of our father to carry us through until we see him again. How lucky, honored and blessed are we to have Santa as our Daddy. What a legacy he leaves behind.
