I only met Paul a handful of times. He grew up next door to my mother when they were children. Despite that being many years ago, he and my mother kept in touch and always sent birthday wishes to eachother every year.
Paul had a very lively and infectious personality. He sang and played guitar at my grandfather's 90th birthday party and was very entertaining and talented. I wish I had video of it to share.
We will miss you Paul. I am glad that you are no longer in pain.
I have lots of memories with Paul. He gave me alot of advise, not all I listened too. Lol. He was never without a story to tell. I'm sure he is up there in heaven leaning on something telling a good one right now. I will miss you. RIP. I bet he is singing silver wings with angels right now and I'm sure my Dad is sitting right there listening.

My condolences to all of Paul's family. My heart is heavy that I put off making a trip to Houston to visit him after his last phone call. Paul and I grew up together on Berwick and as kids we got into more mischief than you can imagine (or maybe you can, knowing Paul). Paul will always hold a special place in my memories and I know I'll see him again one day.
I fell in love with Paul's daughter when I was fifteen in 1991. He accepted me right from the beginning. I remember the first few times I heard him sing. WOW! I was floored. He had an amazing voice. When I started singing country music I thought I was George Strait when I was 17... Haha... Paul sat me down and had a talk with me that changed my voice forever. I remember I got a little mad at first but then really listened to myself when I would sing and thought about what he said. Thank you Paul for making me drop the twang. I still sing some of the songs you did and I know I don't sing them as well as you but I think about you every time I sing them. I'm so happy you can sing again! Start a band with Merle and keep a spot open for me when I get up there.
Ive remembered Paul since i was a baby, I always had a crush on him growing up. Looked forward going to Uncle oris and Aunt Dorothys house every time to see him and Carla.Thye were like brother and sister to me and have been to this day.Both our familys the Goodsons and Stanleys grew up together. I remember many trips to Uncle Oris and Aunt Dorothy's as a child. I have a lot of fond memories of those times. I remember how anxious my brother, Barry and I were to hang out with our cousins Paul and Carla. They were a little older so we really looked up to them. I have a heavy heart as I never got to tell Paul that I often thought of him through the years and did love him very much!
