Jimmie Marie Neece, 99, of Centerville, Texas, passed away on August 28, 2024, in College Station, Texas. She was born on June 11, 1925, in Houston, Texas, to Louis Leroy Howard and Willie Virgie Mae Potts Howard.
Jimmie married her beloved husband, Lindell Neece, on June 24, 1944. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for many years, dedicating her life to caring for others.
A devout Christian, Jimmie was an active member of Market Street Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, before relocating to Centerville, where she attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith and commitment to her church communities were unwavering.
Jimmie had a passion for crafting, especially sewing and quilting. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed making various crafts. Sunflowers and butterflies brought her joy, and she loved incorporating them into her creations. Her interest in genealogy and ancestry led her to become a member of the Genealogy Society in both Houston and Centerville.
Family was at the heart of Jimmie’s life. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always making time for family gatherings. She was known for her impeccable style and was a proud member of the Red Hatters Society and the Victorian Tea Society, where she enjoyed tea parties with her daughter, Mrs. Linda.
Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Leroy Howard, and Willie Virgie Mae Potts Howard; her beloved husband, Lindell Earl Neece; daughter, Theresa Ann Kirkland; sons-in-law, Alfred “Al” Singleton, and Raymond Michael Kirkland; brother, Louis J. Howard; and granddaughter, Leighia Leandra Ardoin.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Singleton; sister, Kathleen Adele and her husband Robert Kilgore; sister-in-law, Mina Howard; grandchildren, Angelia Michelle and her husband Jeff Williams, Christopher Michael and his wife Stephanie Kirkland, Charlene Marie Kirkland and her partner Jay Harris; grandson-in-law, Shane Ardoin; great-grandchildren, Jenna Michelle Williams, Aiden Blake Ardoin, Rebel Raen Ardoin, Trenton Michael Kirkland, Drake Edward Kirkland, Alexis Ryanne Trousdale, Abigail Renae Trousdale, Brooke Ann Cornwell, Matthew Alan King; and great-great-grandchildren, Carter Michael Kirkland, Amoni Avery-Michael Whittington, Chaselin Ann King, and Tyler King. She is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Jimmie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family and community will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
