Mr. Jerry Wayne Buckner's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Jerry Buckner
Jerry Wayne Buckner came into this world on September 3, 1946 in Houston, TX, blessing the lives of his parents Fred and Etta Mae Buckner as their first of two children
After graduating from Galena Park High School, Jerry began his career life. First, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp., where he proudly served from 1965 through 1969. Jerry served as a Sergeant during this period of Vietnam Era.
Second on Jerry’s career list, was 1970 through 1980 when, He proudly served as a police officer with the Houston Police Department. This was followed by his Third Career, as a chemical operator from 1980 until 1991.
While Jerry was quite proud of his careers…the most important events of his life began on April 7, 1968 when he and Linda Dianne Powledge were joined together in holy matrimony. They spent the next 47 ½ years in love, during which time they were blessed by two children…Steven Wayne and Lori Lynn…and then came the glorious grandchildren.
Jerry was known as being a selfless, loving, caring compassionate and humorous man…his family, and those he considered to be family were extremely important to him…If he wasn’t spending family time with them, he was having a quiet time with Linda where the two would watch anything starring John Wayne, a good episode of the Price is Right…or everyone’s favorite puzzle game show, Wheel Of Fortune.
