On Friday, November 8th, 2024 at 2:45 pm, Douglas Lee Smith, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away at the age of 86 in his home surrounded by family.
Douglas was born November 22nd, 1937 in Houston, Texas to H.H. and Grace Smith. He was married to Vicki Jean Smith for 59 loving years. They raised and loved four children, Derrick, Gavin, Sabrena, and Hunter. He owned and operated "Happiness Hair Fashions" for over 30 years. He served his country for 4 years in the US Air Force. Douglas had a passion for gardening, cooking, and trips to the beach.
Douglas was preceded in death by his father H.H. Smith, mother Grace Smith, brother Lambly Smith, sister Cecile Russell, wife Vicki Smith, son Derrick Smith; and other loved ones. He is survived by two sons, Gavin, and Hunter (Teri): one daughter Sabrena (Kent); daughter-in-law Yvonne Smith; seven grandchildren, Valerie (Vince), Brandon, Meagan (Andrew), Lauren (Jonathen), Kameron, Garrett (Cecilia ) and Blake; four great-grandchildren Dakota, Adrienne, Avery, and Noah, as well as many nieces and nephews.
