Darrell T Morris' Obituary
Darrell Tipton Morris, 73, of Highlands TX, passed peacefully in his sleep and went to be with his Savior Monday, March 24th, 2025. He was born in Houston on November 13th, 1951, and was raised in the Lynchburg community of Baytown, Tx, the son of the late Lloyd Tipton Morris and Ernestine Cross Morris.
Darrell, also known as ‘D.T’. or ‘Tip’ to his friends, learned very early the value of community and brotherhood. As a child he was a proud member & leader in the Boy Scouts of America. After graduation at Deer Park High School, Darrell earned his trade degree at Lee Collage in Baytown. Later on in life he would be a dedicated 7 year member of the Sheldon Fire Dept., and a decade long leader in the Royal Rangers, mentoring youth at Maranatha Church in Mt. Belview.
Mr. Morris was a 6 year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) during the Vietnam era. Afterwards at home, Darrell was a skilled & dedicated 30+ year Pipefitter, working across all areas of the Houston energy sector. His work ethic was clearly evident and he always provided for his family. He worked for many shutdown/turnaround contractors over the years, and he completed his career as a Supervisor at Goodyear.
Darrell enjoyed the simple this in life and loved his family; and working on his trucks & many projects at home. He touched the lives of many with his kind heart, humor and laughter. He wanted everyone around him to laugh & be happy, and he was always the life of the party. Darrell was a man bigger than life, and enjoyed life to its fullest. His spirit was unique and irreplaceable. He will be sorely missed until that day we meet again.
He was preceded in death by his beloved Parents, his Brothers, Mike Morris and Dwayne Morris, and his step-daughters, Melissa Fields & Melenie Hendricks.
