I got this message from one of my closest friends last night; talking about how we and a group of a few other friends moved down to Houston 25 years ago to my dad’s house to start a new life. It touched me to know my dad was remembered from all those years ago.
It was an absolute honor to be able to write your obituary, dad; and an even greater honor to have you as my father. I will never laugh again as hard as I laughed with you. I will never work as hard as I did to impress you. I will never quit trying to be just like you. You fought through so much adversity and loneliness to try and be there for all of us. It did not go unnoticed. It will always be remembered. You always did make me feel loved and made me proud; and I hope I did the same for you. Rest and enjoy the view.
