Chester Arthur Rogers, Jr.'s Obituary
Chester A. Rogers Jr. was born November 20, 1942 to Chester and Ruby Rogers. he was raised on a farm until the age of seven when his family moved to Houston, TX. while in Houston and attending Galena Park High School he met the love of his life Arlene Rawlings. The married in March of 1965 and had two sons, Mike born in 1969 and Mark in 1972. Chester may have left the farm as a young boy but the fam never left him. Chester loved his family and friends, his dog, and his farn in Rosebud, TX. He would spend every chance he could at his farm carring out the work his father once did. He loved to joke and laugh and make people smile. He was a little rough on the outside but a soft warm heart on the inside that would help anyone in need. When Chester had a passion he love to share it with everyone. He would share it with you as if it was your passion too. Whether it was his farm, antique clocks, the Texas Aggies, or professional bull riding he would point out the details of how the combine would bring in the maize, or the proper way to wind a clock, or literally anything abouth the Aggies with a passion that you had to respect. The man knew what he liked and why he liked it. And he would often let you know. Chester was a hard worker who had a long career as a salesman for Walkup Co., his second family. Anyone who knew Chester knew he was a natural salesman because only he could talk to a fence post. Chester is survived by his wife Arlene Rogers, sons Mike Rogers, Mark Rogers and wife Monica Rogers and his precious granddaughter Peyton Elise Rogers. Also family members Joe and Lynda Turner, Jerry and Ouida Holt, Mary Rawlings, and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many close friends. Our lived have been enriched for having known and loved him. He will be missed forever.
