Betty Lorraine Johnson's Obituary
Betty Lorraine Johnson passed away on June 3, 2023, at the blessed age of 94, in La Porte, Texas. She was born on July 15, 1928, to William and Dorothy Christiansen in Chicago, Illinois.
She met and married the love of her life Dale E. Johnson on December 6, 1946. They had three daughters, Kathy, Paula, and Jenny. She worked as a nurse for Rockglen Hospital and for Doctor Eugene A. Degner.
Betty was a devoted member to Holy Trinity Methodist Church. She enjoyed Crochet, Knitting, Fishing, and especially enjoyed being in her beach house in Galveston Texas. Her most favorite time was going to her grandson’s baseball, football, hockey games, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed attending her granddaughter’s horse shows.
Betty Johnson was loved by so many and was everyone’s ‘GRANNY’.
She was preceded in death by husband of 64 years, Dale Johnson, her daughters, Kathy Redford, and Paula Koonce and her sisters, Millie Thompson, and Eva Lucille Cloud Moore.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Jenny Lewis and her husband, Don and son-in laws, Russell Redford Jr., and Gene Koonce Sr. ; 6 Grandchildren, Debbie Baca, Tracy Thompson, Gene Koonce Jr., Rusty Redford, Kristina Baum and Ashton Lewis, 13 Great-grandchildren William Blake, Lacey Blake, Caitlyn Mazzali, Cody Thompson, Clay Thompson, Cameron Thompson, Madison Redford, Grayson Redford, Breanna Kinzel, Crista Koonce, Chance Koonce, Peighton Highsmith and Mason Highsmith; and 8 Great-Great grandchildren Owen, Rylie, Ryker, Charlotte, Bodhi, Everett, Lainey and Brinlee.
