Jennifer Elaine Leber
February 27, 1977 - February 27, 2022
Jennifer Elaine (McClanahan) Leber, “Jen”, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at her home in New Caney, Texas. She was born to Paula Elaine McClanahan and Richard Alan Ivey on February 27, 1977. She spent exactly 45 years in this world and left us way too soon. Jen grew up in Highlands, Texas. She enjoyed reading books, playing volleyball and always did well in school. She loved summer vacations at Marina Village - going fishing with her Grandpa, playing games with her Grandma, swimming, riding bikes (and fighting) with her brother. She especially loved it when her mom would get to join them on the weekends. Jen was an avid member of the Cedar Bayou 4H Club. She raised lambs (and later steers) to compete with on the local show circuit and for the Baytown Youth Fair and Rodeo. She excelled in Showmanship and did very well at Livestock judging those years as well. Jen loved all animals and was notorious for adopting and rescuing many four legged critters throughout her life, including her beloved dogs, Daisy (who she has been reunited with) and Sadie (who she left here to hold down the fort). After High School, she attended Lee College where she studied Accounting and later held careers at a law office as well as in Logistics Management. Jennifer was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease several years ago. She courageously battled the auto-immune disease every day. Time after time it would literally knock her down, land her in the ER or Hospital and every time she would fight her way through it. She found comfort in talking to and helping others that suffered from Addison’s or similar issues. Her words of encouragement gave many others the hope and the strength they needed to fight and push through it, even when she had none left for herself. Jennifer passed away in her sleep and is, once again, at peace. She has been reunited with some folks and one special four-legged best friend, that we know she missed and loved very much. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Richard Alan Ivey; her maternal grandparents, Paul and Blanche McClanahan; her paternal grandparents, Bobby Roy and Mary Ivey, along with many other family members, in-laws, and a beloved unborn child. Jennifer is survived by her husband, Karl Leber; her mother, Paula McClanahan; her brother, Gregory McClanahan, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, longtime friends, extended family members and in-laws. She will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service for Jennifer will be held on Sunday, March 20. The gathering will begin at 2 p.m. and the service at 3 p.m. at San Jacinto Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, TX 77015. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Adrenal Disease Foundation in Jennifer’s name.
