Wronell Bob Carter's Obituary
Wronell “Bob” Carter, 78, beloved husband, father and grandfather entered into rest on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in Houston. He was born to Gerald and Verda Nell Carter on August 22, 1941 in Como, Texas. He was the oldest of three children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Verda Nell Carter, his son Bobby Duane Carter and his brother Charlie B. Carter.
He will be missed dearly by his loving wife, Sherrill Carter, of 53 years, his daughter Kimberly and husband Jim Carranza; grandchildren, Christian, Joshua and his wife Mercedes, Lindsey and two precious great granddaughters Mya and Adaline as well as his sister Elizabeth Medina and a host of other relatives and many friends.
For those that knew Bob, his greatest two loves were his family and sports. Rain or shine, he was there to support his grandchildren at all their activities. Although he had never watched soccer until his grandchildren started playing, he rarely missed a game and learned to love the sport as much they did. Everyone knew him as PawPaw on the sidelines. He was also the biggest Houston sports fan, win or lose. His weekends consisted of watching the pregame, the game and the postgame and then a few more games.
Bob never met a stranger. Many times, he would strike up a conversation with someone based on just the logo on their shirt or cap. It was this trait that made him loved by so many.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Tuesday, August 4,2020 From 11:00am to 12:00pm at San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday August 4, 2020 at 12:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
