Mrs. Winnie Belle LaFleur's Obituary
Winnie Belle La Fleur, 78, was born on September 8, 1937 to the late Frank and Lilly Choate in Abbeville, Louisiana and gained her angel wings on November 13, 2015 in Pasadena, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Winnie married the love of her life, Mr. Nolan La Fleur on June 4, 1955, and they shared 60 years of wedded bliss and they lived in the North Shore area for 50 + years. Winnie was a devout catholic and would recite the Holy Rosary everyday. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church for 40 years, where she served as an Eucharistic minister for 15 years.
Winnie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger. If she could tell something was wrong with someone, she would let them know that she would pray for them. She was loving, beautiful, kind and a precious angel to all who knew her.
She loved working out in her yard and she won “Yard of the Month” 6 different times from her outstanding gardening skills. She was an avid collector of angels and porcelain roses. She loved listening to her favorite singer, Elvis Presley.
Winnie is predeceased by her parents: Frank and Mabel Choate and mother Lilly Choate. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Nolan La Fleur; daughters: Teresa Mitchell and husband David and Donna Artiaga and husband George; Grandchildren: Steven Mitchell and wife Rhiannon, Charles Mitchell, Sam Mathewson and McKenna Mathewson; great-grandchildren: Bradley Mathewson, Kira Mitchell and one on the way; brother: Jeffrey Choate and wife Dorothy; sister: Kathy Eichelberger; brother in law: Ernest La Fleur and wife Pat; special friends: Pat Kornick, Erin Arnaud, LaVerne Wiles and Barbara Williams; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
