Willie Lee Downhour's Obituary
Willie Lee Downhour, age 70, passed away on July 23, 2024. Born on March 3, 1954, to Willie Lee Downhour Sr. and Beatrice Handy in Rahway, New Jersey, he later moved to Pasadena, Texas, where he started his loving family. Willie built a distinguished career as a Millwright for Turner Industries, where he was known for his dependability, hard work, and care for his coworkers. He became renowned for his tradition of cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for over 50 employees. His charitable spirit extended beyond his work. Willie volunteered as a firefighter, raised funds for children’s programs and drug education, and once decorated 3,000 eggs for the Pasadena Children’s Easter Egg Hunt. Willie had a passion for fishing, enjoying both the catch and the meal. He spent countless hours fishing and proudly photographing his catches. In his leisure time, he loved playing jokes, attending bingo, and antique shopping at local mom-and-pop stores. He was always getting into trouble with the ladies; helping push them in their wheelchairs. He will be missed by so many people.
Willie joins his parents, Willie Lee Downhour Sr. and Beatrice Handy; his first wife, Becky Olson; his second wife, Diane Elizabeth Downhour; his son, Willie Lee Downhour III; and his half-brother, Fred Saunders, in eternity.
