Mr. Warren Joseph Strickhausen's Obituary
WARREN JOSEPH STRICKHAUSEN, SR - Beloved Father, Paw Paw, and Uncle passed away peacefully on June 8, 2009 in Conroe, TX. He was born June 30, 1939 in Galveston, Texas. In 1956, Warren joined the United States Coast Guard at the age of 17 were he served 8 years. In 1962, he tried his hand as a Deputy Sheriff of Galveston County, but found that he was not suited to be an officer. Warren joined the IBEW Local Union 66 around 1960 where he worked in New Mexico and Texas as a lineman. In 1964, he married Peggie Kluth and had three wonderful children together. In 1976, he started his career with the City of Houston Electrical Division where he climbed his way from a lineman to supervisor. He retired from the City of Houston in 1990 after suffering a massive stroke. Warren was a two time Golden Glove Champion, umpired games at Channelview Little League, competed in BBQ Cook-offs, and was a member of the IBEW Local 66 Union. He was a 32o Degree Mason member of the Park Place Lodge No. 1172 and a member of Arabia Temple Shrine. His kind heart, joyful spirit and hearty laugh will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Loney Parker Strickhausen and father Waldo Leslie Strickhausen. Brother, Waldo Leslie Strickhausen, Jr., Sister, Jeanette Marie Huitt, Sister, Billie Joe Diehl. Survivors include: son, Warren "Scooter" Strickhausen, Jr. and wife, Tina of Crosby, TX; son, Phillip Strickhausen and wife, Hollie of Hull, TX; daughter Leslie Underwood and husband, David of Crosby, TX; loving niece, Janice Mae Finch of Stafford, TX. Grandchildren: Chelsea, Cara, Taylor, Laynie, Tristan, Phillip & Carter. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends at San Jacinto Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 10th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 in the morning at San Jacinto Funeral Home, I-10 East, Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, I-45 South in Webster. The family extends special thanks to the Odyessy House in Conroe for the loving care.
