Warren Lee Lemond's Obituary
Warren Lee Lemond, born in Houston, Texas, on May 6th, 1946, was the cherished child of Clarence Lemond, Sr., and Emelda Lewis Lemond. Along with his seven (7) siblings, he was raised in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, where his parents were founding members. He was a man of many talents, gifts, and passions. His upbringing was marked by love, resilience, and a strong sense of community.
Warren's life took a beautiful turn when he met the love of his life, Rosiland Ann Flowers. Their courtship blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and they exchanged vows in holy matrimony. Together, they weathered life's storms, celebrated its joys, and built a home filled with laughter and warmth.
Warren had a prolific career as a design engineer and architect in the Oil, Gas & Chemical sector, obtaining the elite rank of “First Negro Draftsman Trainee". Warren was a passionate humanitarian and leader committed to uplifting his community through social change and economic development. In 1996, KHOU-TV selected him as one of Houston’s current history-makers.
Warren was deeply passionate about art, interior design, landscaping, writing, baseball, country music, and cooking Louisiana "Creole" cuisine. He embodied vision, compassion, and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on those around him. Warren will be remembered as an individual who lived life with purpose and made a positive impact on the lives of others.
His legacy and remembrance will continue with his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, their children, grandchildren, his siblings, and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 1401 Fidelity Street, Houston, Texas 77029, on March 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation is from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be held at San Jacinto Memorial Park, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015, at 1:00 p.m.
