Mr. W.D. "Bill" Jones' Obituary
W. D. “Bill” Jones, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at his home in Channelview, Texas. Bill was born on July 5, 1927 to John Hadley Jones and Molly Viola Jones in Ponta, Texas. He was employed by Champion Paper Mill in Pasadena, Texas for 33 years.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jones who passed away January 2, 2006, as well as his brothers and sisters, Pearl Terry, Ernest Jones, Harold Jones, and Marceline Simmons.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Paula and Don Logan of Houston, Texas, and his son and daughter in law, Byron and Kelli Jones of Houston, Texas. Mr. Jones leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren (Brittany and Matt Wadyka, Wyatt and Lane; Ashlie and Kyle Havard, Emilee, Hailee, Kynlee and Corlee; Lance Logan, and Brandi Jones (Jasper, Silas and Kayden).
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to caregivers Barbara Naranjo, Tara Flores, and John Kochli as well as Season’s Hospice for helping Bill fulfill his wish to remain at home until he passed to eternal peace.
Mr. Jones was loved by many for his kind, gentle, and generous nature. He loved caring for his garden and lawn, and anyone that knew him, laughed at how a single leaf was not to touch his driveway! He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Friends and family are welcome to a visitation on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at San Jacinto Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015.
Mr. Jones will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery beside his loving wife, Mary.
