Virginia Mary Pate's Obituary
Virginia Matranga Pate, 89, was born to George Joseph Matranga and Frances Ingrando Matranga in 1924.
Ginny, as she was known to her friends and many family members, grew up in east Houston and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, a devoted wife, daughter, mother, daughter-in-law, friend and especially the best grandmother & great-grandmother a child could wish for.
There was nothing she couldn't do... gardening, quilting, ceramics, cooking, baking; she shared many treasures with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd and brother Anthony Joseph Matranga and survived by her children, Michael Pate and Sandra Belote. Her legacy will live on through the hearts of her grandchildren, Paul Belote, Kim Belcher, Nick Pate, Greg Pate, Angela Jardine, Harold Pate and Dana Rowan. Great-grandchildren are Taylor, Madison, Cole, Briana, Zachary and Alexis. She was due to be a great-great-grandmother in 2014. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, the children of AJ and Anne Ippoliti Matranga.
