Verna Mae Rial's Obituary
Verna Mae Rial, born July 4, 1935, passed away on February 24, 2026.
She was born in South Dakota and later moved to Michigan, where she met and married Willard Rial. The two eventually settled in Houston, Texas, where they raised their family. Willard precedes her in death in 2008. Verna was one of three siblings. Her brothers Fred Richmond and Ronnie Richmond precede her in death, and she is survived by her brother Mike Richmond.
Verna had three children: Cindy Mace, David Rial, and Susan Mulloy. Her son, David, precedes her in death, and she is survived by her daughters, Cindy and Susan; her son-in-law, Jeff Mulloy; and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Rial.
She had five grandchildren: Michele Broughton, Shawn Rial, Priscilla Barrios, Katie Ann Mulloy, and Kelli Mulloy, and one great-grandson, Josiah David Barrios. She helped raise her grandchildren and was an active part of their lives.
Verna lived a full life and was deeply loved by her family. She was fun, quick-witted, and never passed up a bargain. She believed full price was optional and that the best stories often started at the clearance rack.
A private family service will be held.
