Valentin Godina Jr.'s Obituary
It is with profound sadness and enduring love that we announce the passing of Valentin (Val) Godina Jr., a radiant soul whose creativity knew no bounds. Departed on October 26, 2025, at the age of forty-five, in Galveston, Texas, Val lived a life that was as bold and beautiful as the art, music, and memories he created with those in his presence. He was born November 23, 1979, to Rosa Maria Bermudez and Valentin Godina Sr. in Houston, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Melchor Cavazos Sr., Petra Coronado Cavazos, Jesus G. Godina, Rogelia S. Godina, and his stepfather, Hector Bermudez.
He is survived by his daughter, Adrianna K. Godina; his mother, Rosa Maria Bermudez; his father, Valentin Godina Sr.; his sisters: Isabel (Mark) Ware, Laura (Dante) Johnson, Claudia Godina; his brothers: Juan (Danielle) Godina, Joaquin (Alejandra) Godina, Augustin Godina, Adrian Bermudez, Andres (Jennifer) Bermudez, Ivan (Ericka) Bermudez; and 15 nephews and 11 nieces.
He played life like a song and painted it on skin—Val was a symphony of creativity, humor, and compassion. As a tattoo artist, Val left his mark—literally and figuratively—on countless lives. His designs were more than ink; they were expressions of identity, memory, and transformation. Clients became friends, and his tattoo chair was a sanctuary of self-expression and a safe place to be your authentic self. His passion for music was equally powerful. Whether strumming a guitar, drumming beats on the kitchen table, or simply sharing songs that moved him, Val had a way of making sound feel like home. Music was his language, and through it, he connected with the souls of those around him.
Val was a creator of the arts. His imagination spilled into everything he touched, from sketches on notebooks to late-night culinary experiments to drawing and painting his own artwork for sale, he lived with intensity, humor, and heart – always seeking beauty in those around him, always giving more than he took. Though his physical presence is gone, his spirit remains etched in every note, every recipe, every tattoo, and every memory we hold dear.
He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and nephew who enjoyed life to the fullest and marched to the beat of his own drum. Above all, his daughter was his world!
