Tommie Faye Bright's Obituary
Tommie Faye Bright passed away at the age of 93, on October 28, 2023 at her home in Highlands, Texas.
Tommie was born to H.O and Janie Cantey in Madison County, Texas, on January 2, 1930. She married Paul Bright on January 17, 1948.
Tommie loved getting together with her family, and her delicious pumpkin pies, potato salad, and gumbo were fixtures at the table. She was an avid and talented quilter, creating beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren, and all 15 of her great-grandchildren. She had many friends at Highlands Community Center where she quilted and exercised. She enjoyed playing (and especially winning) card games and gardening.
Tommie is survived by her sister, Doris Samford; sons Johnny Bright (Lulu) and Jay Bright (Sandy); daughter Marilyn Hall; and son-in-law J.B Murray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; sister Nelda King; brothers James Merle Cantey; son-in-law Ronald Hall; and daughter Paula Murray.
Tommie leaves behind seven grandchildren: Wendy Tull, Jason Bright (Jessica), Amanda Schmuck (Michael), Jacob Murray (Laura), Melissa Walker (Kyle), Ryan Bright (Jenny) and Dylan Murray. She was a proud great grand mother to 15.
