Thomas Larry Pevoteaux's Obituary
In the warm embrace of family and friends, we remember Thomas Larry Pevoteaux, a gentle soul whose quiet acts of kindness touched many lives. Born on October 5, 1940, in Galveston, Texas, Thomas grew up surrounded by the simple joys that became his lifelong passions: playing poker, watching baseball and being a life long Astros Fan, fishing, cooking, and a community involvement in local teen sports.
In 1962, Thomas answered the call to serve his country, joining the US Army where he served honorably until 1964, attaining the rank of E3. Upon returning home, he dedicated 28 years as a Senior Lab Tech for Bayer Chemical, bringing diligence and a compassionate spirit to his work.
On May 28, 1971, Thomas married Esther Flores, beginning a loving partnership that spanned over five decades. Their home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of Thomas's cooking. His love for fishing granted him peaceful moments by the water, while his joy in preparing meals allowed him to share hearty dishes and fond memories with those he cared for.
Thomas's gentle nature and willingness to share in simple pleasures left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He is fondly remembered by his wife, Esther, and cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
Thomas leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Esther Flores Pevoteaux; his daughter, Michelle Nira, and her husband, Marc Nira; his son, Darrell Pevoteaux, and his wife, Diana Ospina Pevoteaux. He was a proud grandfather to Kaleb, Daniel, Isabella, Addison, Chloe, and Cullen and great-grandfather to Leilani.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Lucy Pevoteaux.
As we mourn his passing on April 26, 2025, in Richmond, Texas, we find comfort in the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. His soft-spoken generosity and gentle spirit will continue to inspire us to embrace the simple joys in life and to share kindness with others.
Let us honor Thomas's memory by cherishing the moments of kindness he shared and by carrying forward his legacy of gentle compassion
