Ted Marvin Fisher Jr.'s Obituary
Ted Fisher Jr., affectionately known as Butch, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, in Deer Park, Texas, at the age of 79. Born on February 16, 1946, in Galveston, Texas, to Ted Fisher Sr. and Laverne Winford, Butch lived a life filled with love, dedication, and creativity.
Butch later married the love of his life, Dawn Thompson-Fisher, on February 12, 1983, in Jacinto City, Texas. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
A dedicated employee of the Port of Houston for over 20 years, Butch was known for his hard work and commitment. He was also a faithful member of Second Baptist Church of Galena Park, where his presence and faith were deeply felt.
Butch's passions extended beyond his professional life. He found joy in tending to his flowers, painting, reading, and writing. His creativity and love for nature were evident in everything he did. He cherished spending time with his beloved dogs, Ouiser and Hazel, who were his constant companions.
Family was at the heart of Butch's life. He is survived by his children: Hollye Dexter and her husband Troy Dexter of Chatsworth, California; Caleb Fisher of Deer Park, Texas; Ted William Fisher and his fiancée Genell Summers White of Dickinson, Texas; and Ted Duane Fisher of Port Angeles, Washington and daughter in love Heather Fisher. He also leaves behind his brothers: Ronnie Fisher, Bill Fisher and his wife Sue Fisher, and Duane Fisher and his wife Robyn Fisher.
Butch's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Cristen Desantis and her husband Jameson, Taylor Dexter and his wife Lenore, Jordan Spurlock and his girlfriend Chloe, Evan Dexter, and Joshua Fisher; and his great-grandchildren: Ayumu, Ezra, and Clayton. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, and great nephews who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Ted Fisher Sr. and Laverne Winford; his stepmother Betty Fisher; his sister Marty; his brother Jimmy Fisher; and his beloved wife Dawn Thompson-Fisher.
Butch will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Butch. Your legacy of love, creativity, and dedication will never be forgotten. The family extends a special thanks to the team at Divinity Hospice for the wonderful care Butch received.
