Suzanne Purdy Beam's Obituary
On December 29, 1947, Paul and Lola Rose welcomed their new born daughter, Suzanne to Cadiz, Ohio, Planet Earth. On May 19, 2019, Jesus Christ welcomed her to her eternal heavenly home.
At the age of 71, Suzanne left this world – and us – with a tender sigh and just a ghost of a smile. As we were saying tearful good-byes, Suzanne was being greeted by familiar smiling faces and joyful voices calling out “Hello!” and “We’ve been waiting for you!”. Surely, Teddy Purdy, her husband of 47 years, was the first to greet her, while her uncle, Hugh Rose, brother-in-law, Don Coker, and a host of family and friends pressed closer to add their own words of welcome.
Suzanne leaves behind her sister, Mary Jane Coker, her brother, Scott Rose, her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Philip Schrimpf, her son and daughter-in-law Paul and Pamela Purdy and too many to count “adopted” children that she either taught in Sunday School or close friends of Jeanine and Paul.
Her family increased when she married J. C. Beam. Suzanne was pleased and felt so honored include Alicia Beam Locke and husband, Doug and Darrin Beam and wife Elizabeth as her children.
Suzanne’s blended family produced 7 grandchildren: Kayla Schrimpf Tomlinson, her husband Troy Allen, Trey Tyler Purdy, his fiancé Kelsie Hall, Ashley Bacon, her husband John, Mariah, Celina and Justin Locke and Sophia Beam. Her 5 great-grandchildren are Waylon Purdy, Weston Hall, Clyde Allen Tomlinson, Ember and Justice Bacon.
