Steve Vasquez Jr., age 70, of Houston, Texas passed away August 13, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
He was born April 2, 1953, to parents Estevan and Rosa Vasquez in Houston, Texas.
Steve married the love of his life Herminia Vasquez on May 26, 1972, in Houston, Texas.
He was a man of all trades, but welding and being a foreman were his specialties.
Steve enjoyed many hobbies among those were fishing, hunting, bowling, being bossy, cutting grass, cooking briskets, eating, and taking in stray animals. He also enjoyed the outdoors; he would plant fruit trees and tend to his garden often. Above all he loved serving the Lord.
He is survived by his loving wife Herminia Vasquez, daughter Rosie Lee Avalos and her husband Juan Carlos Avalos, adopted daughter Victoria Quinones and her husband Juan Carlos Quinones, sons; Steve Vasquez III and his wife Maria Vasquez, Robert G. Vasquez and his wife Karen Vasquez, Abel Ray Vasquez and his wife Elida Vasquez, and brothers Valentine Vasquez and David Vasquez. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; Juan J. Leal, Manuel Leal, Raquel Leal, Israel Leal, Juan C. Avalos Jr., Jose A. Avalos, Rosita Vasquez, Steve D. Vasquez, Jose G. Vasquez, Alyssa Vasquez, Stefanni Vasquez, Kamren Vasquez, Anthony R. Vasquez, Abel R. Vasquez Jr., Nicolas D. Vasquez, Jacob Gallegos, Ruben D. Rodriguez, Samantha C. Rodriguez, Rafael A. Sorto, and 14 great grandchildren; Zendaya Leal, Zayden Leal, Isaias Leal, Anthony Contreras, Avril Contreras, Damien Soto, Jesus D. Vasquez, Jose J. Vasquez, Mia Gallegos, Amy Gallegos, Arianna Alyssa Rodriguez, Elijah Ian Rodriguez, Anais V. Garcia, and Alina Garcia.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Estevan and Rosa Vasquez, maternal grandparents Nicolas Gallardo and Refugio Lopez Gallardo, paternal grandparents Valentin P. Vasquez and Diega Vasquez, sister Cecilia Chavez and Dolores Yanez, and grandson Robert Joevonni Vasquez Jr.
Steve will be dearly missed.
