Ms. Sheryl Mae Funk's Obituary
Sheryl Mae Funk, 73, was born on the 15th of April 1944 in the town of Oskaloosa, Iowa to David Harold and Naomi Ruth Funk and went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
Sheryl was born in and lived in Iowa, until moving to Houston, Texas where she made her home. Sheryl was a graduate of Furr High School and later attended Bible College. She worked at Harris County Civil Court as a clerk until her retirement.
Sheryl enjoyed going to church and attended Cross Roads Church in Houston, TX. The most important events to Sheryl was her times at church, the time spent with her family and her travels with family. While in her travels, her most memorable was to Israel. Sheryl enjoyed Ladies’ meetings at her church, lots of naps, and enjoying the games on her phone. She loved church tapes and gospel hymns.
Sheryl is survived by her brother J.D. Funk and family, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at San Jacinto Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:00am at San Jacinto Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park. Pastor Mike Allard will be presiding over services.
