Mrs. Sherrie Kay Smith's Obituary
Sherrie Kay Smith, 65, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in a Houston hospital. Mrs. Smith was born in Anthony, Kansas on November 26, 1945 to Marvin Hill and Charlotte Babcock. She was a teacher first in the Galena Park I.S.D. where she taught 2nd. grade and in the Channelview I.S.D. for 21 years where she taught 6th. grade. Sherrie loved the good things in life. Among her greatest joys were her family, teaching, sweets, butterflies, bright colors, tea, and roses. On June 26 of this year she and her beloved Charles would have celebrated 40 years of marriage. Along with Charles Smith, she is survived by their children Melissa Smith and Christopher Smith; her brother Stanley Hill and wife Michelle; nieces and nephew Elizabeth Smith, Deborah Canada, Charlotte Primrose, and Byron Hill and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home, 14659 Market Street Rd, on Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Old River Terrace Methodist Church of Channelview at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Clay Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park.
