Mr. Sherrell Barnett's Obituary
Sherrell Barnett, 80, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2017 in the presence of loved ones. He was born in Canton, Texas to Hubert and Maggie Barnett on August 1, 1937.
Sherrell proudly served his country, serving in the Air Force from 1955-1958. On December 24, 1980, Sherrell married his loving wife, Mary Barnett. He will be remembered for being well-spoken and for his endearing and fun nature. He cherished quality time with his family and friends. He had a passion for old western movies and country music, especially Johnny Cash.
Sherrell is preceded in death by his father, Hubert Barnett; mother, Maggie Barnett; and brother, Kerry Barnett. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Barnett; daughter, Debbie and husband, Leonard Gonzales; son, Cosmo and wife, Candy Guerrero; sister, Margaret Ann Whitten; brothers, Gale Barnett and Jimmy Barnett; grandsons, Cosmo Guerrero III, L.J. Gonzales, Chris Guerrero and Anthony Gonzales; granddaughters, Larnette Gonzales, Melody Gonzales, Michelle Molini, and Crystal Molina; and his 15 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 5-8pm at San Jacinto Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10am at San Jacinto Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
