Shawn D Pope's Obituary
Shawn David Pope, age 64, of Channelview Texas, passed away June 25, 2025, in Baytown, Texas.
Born July 21, 1960, in Houston, Texas.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1983, where he learned to be an Electrician, which he continued throughout his life.
Shawn adored and doted on his nieces, great nieces and nephew. Whom he loved with his whole heart. He watched them grow through the years and was always there for them with all his love and understanding.
Shawn cherished his friendships, always keeping in touch with childhood friends, navy buddies, friends from work, he considered them all family.
Shawn’s passion in life was sports. He followed the Texans and the Astros with enthusiasm, often going to the games in person. He loved hunting and fishing, especially the annual family hunting trip.
Shawn is survived by his loving sisters Dawn Schulz of Houston Texas, Kimberly Cross and husband Gordon of Beach City Texas, father Sherman Pope and wife Cheryl of Lufkin, Texas. Nieces: Shawnna Denise Bayer and husband John of Warrenton, Missouri, Twyla Schulz-Michaelchuk and husband Jacob of Magnolia, Texas. Great nieces: Colleen Denise Redford and husband Tim of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Courtney Rose Bayer of Warrenton, Missouri. Great nephew Dale Carl Dodson III and wife Abby of Magnolia, Texas. Great-great nephew Dale Carl Dodson IV, great-great niece Hayden Denise Redford.
Shawn is preceded in death by his loving mother Marcia Pope.
Shawn will live in our hearts and memories Forever.
During the ceremony there will be an opportunity to share fond memories. Military honors will be at the gravesite. Reception to follow at the home of Kimberly and Gordon Cross.
