Shari Johnea McKusker's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shari J. McKusker, born in Houston, Texas on April 15, 1966, and passing away on February 4, 2025.
The beach was Shari's sanctuary, a place where she found peace and inspiration. Her love for all things horror added a unique twist to her vibrant personality. Shari's voice was a gift to all who heard it, whether she was singing her favorite songs or simply sharing a laugh. Her love for cats was evident in the way she cared for every feline friend that crossed her path. Above all, Shari's greatest passion was helping others. She couldn't bear to see anyone suffer and made it her life's mission to bring comfort and happiness to those around her.
Shari's love for reading transported her to worlds beyond imagination, while her passion for music filled her days with melodies that resonated deeply with all who knew her. A hard worker, Shari dedicated the latter part of her nursing career to hospice care, where her gentle touch and empathetic nature brought comfort to many in their final moments. She had an innate ability to help others, often stopping whatever she was doing to lend a hand, ensuring no one around her ever felt alone or in pain.
Shari is survived by her stepfather Mustafa Rafet, her son Jacob McKusker and his girlfriend Hayeong Kim, her siblings Robyn Becker and her husband Lance Becker and Scott Massey and his wife Melissa Massey, her aunt LaJuan Adams and her husband JW Adams, her first cousin Kristi Driver and her husband Jeff Driver, and her nephews Mathew Vasquez, Keaton Massey, and Brandon Massey. She was preceded in death by her mother Sharon Rafet, father Johnny McKusker, her sister Susan McKusker, and her cousin Willie McKusker. She will be missed by countless other friends and family members that she knew and loved.
Shari's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and career will forever be remembered. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
