Mrs. Sarah Jaunice Barrett's Obituary
Sarah Jauncie Barrett, 78, went to be with our Lord, peacefully and at home, Monday, October 30, 2017.
Jaunice was born May 16, 1939 in Arcadia, Texas to Tottie and Adele Corder. After moving to Channelview with her family in 1951, she married the love of her life, Robert Lynn Barrett, October 3, 1959.
Jaunice dedicated her life to her church and community in Channelview, Texas. She worked as a secretary for Channelview ISD for 26 years, was actively involved in the school board and water department elections, PTA president, and took pride in her support of the Democratic Party.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Jaunice loved cooking for loved ones, socializing, getting her nails done, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She loved the Lord, her husband, family, and friends with all her heart; she will be missed dearly.
Jaunice was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Corder, sister Auneva Faulkner, and son Todd Barrett.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Lynn Barrett, sister, Joyce Gray, daughter, Tanya Oman, her husband Cass Oman, grandchildren, Tiffany and Chris Mafilou, Joey and Crystal Merka, Samantha Barrett, Robert and Loren Barrett, Victoria Mata, and multiple great grandchildren.
