Santiago Huerta's Obituary
Santiago Ruben Huerta, born on July 25, 1944, in Nogales, Veracruz, Mexico, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas, on June 7, 2025. He was the beloved son of Delfino Huerta and Consuelo Rosas.
Santiago was a devoted husband to Leticia Huerta, whom he married in Puebla, Mexico, in 1990. He built a strong career as a foreman with Industria Resistol Mexico and later with PolyOne Houston. A proud member of his local YMCA, he embraced an active lifestyle that defined his days.
From a young age, Santiago was captivated by baseball, eagerly listening to every broadcasted game on the family radio. Over time, he became a dedicated Yankees fan, sporting his favorite jersey while following every game with unwavering enthusiasm. His love for sports extended to soccer, passionately supporting Club América through the highs and lows of the Mexican League.
Beyond his love for sports, Santiago found solace by the coast, spending cherished moments fishing, watching the waves, and tending to his garden of fruits and vegetables. His energy and zest for life were truly unmatched.
Santiago is survived by his loving wife, Leticia, and his children: Leti Huerta, Rene Huerta, Santiago Huerta, and Michael Huerta. His grandchildren, Lesly Alvarez-Huerta, Karlo Huerta, Allison Molina-Luna, Emily Alvarez, Nickole Huerta, and Daniel Alvarez, held a special place in his heart, also his great grandchildren Thiago Moreno, Levi Huerta, Luke Huerta who he adored deeply. He also leaves behind his brothers: Roberto Huerta, Raul Huerta, Delfino Huerta, Manuel Huerta, Luis Huerta, and Lucio Huerta-Canada, while his other brothers remain in Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Delfino Huerta and Consuelo Rosas.
Santiago’s passion for life, his love of family, and his dedication to his interests will always be remembered with great admiration. May his legacy continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

Santiago Rubén Huerta, nacido el 25 de julio de 1944 en Nogales, Veracruz, México, falleció pacíficamente en Houston, Texas, el 7 de junio de 2025. Fue el amado hijo de Delfino Huerta y Consuelo Rosas.
Santiago fue un esposo dedicado a Leticia Huerta, con quien contrajo matrimonio en Puebla, México, en 1990. Construyó una sólida carrera como capataz en Industria Resistol México y más tarde en PolyOne Houston. Como orgulloso miembro de su YMCA local, disfrutaba de un estilo de vida activo que lo definió a lo largo de su vida.
Desde temprana edad, Santiago se sintió cautivado por el béisbol, escuchando con entusiasmo cada transmisión de juego en la radio familiar. Con el tiempo, se convirtió en un ferviente fanático de los Yankees, siguiendo cada partido con una pasión inquebrantable y luciendo su camiseta favorita. Su amor por los deportes también incluía el fútbol, apoyando apasionadamente al Club América a través de los altibajos de la Liga Mexicana.
Más allá de su amor por los deportes, Santiago encontraba paz en la costa, pasando momentos entrañables pescando, observando las olas y cuidando su jardín de frutas y verduras. Su energía y entusiasmo por la vida fueron verdaderamente incomparables.
Santiago deja detrás a su querida esposa, Leticia, y a sus hijos: Leti Huerta, Rene Huerta, Santiago Huerta y Michael Huerta. Sus nietos, Lesly Álvarez-Huerta, Karlo Huerta, Allison Molina-Luna, Emily Álvarez, Nickole Huerta y Daniel Álvarez, y tambien bisnietos, Thiago Moreno, Levi Huerta, Luke Huerta ocupaban un lugar especial en su corazón y los adoraba profundamente. También deja a sus hermanos: Roberto Huerta, Raúl Huerta, Delfino Huerta, Manuel Huerta, Luis Huerta y Lucio Huerta-Canadá, mientras que el resto de sus hermanos permanecen en México.
Fue precedido en muerte por sus padres, Delfino Huerta y Consuelo Rosas.
La pasión de Santiago por la vida, su amor por la familia y su dedicación a sus intereses siempre serán recordados con gran admiración. Que su legado continúe inspirando a quienes lo conocieron y amaron.
