Sandra Sue Purswell's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” Sue Purswell was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She went to be with Jesus on June 26, 2023, at the age of 68.
She was born to Isaac Butcher and Levita “Toodles” Juanita Ramsey Butcher on April 2, 1955. Sandy was a hardworking lady, she worked many years as a bus driver for Channelview ISD and was also a dedicated LVN where she later retired from both careers. Sandy loved all the kids she drove around. Later she became a geriatric nurse because she enjoyed taking care of people.
Sandy didn’t know a stranger and she saw good in everyone she met. She enjoyed drawing, singing, writing stories, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She also loved making and decorating cakes and playing games, dancing, , gardening, hunting, fishing and listening to all kinds of music.
Sandy was a long-time resident of Channelview. She grew up going to Church and enjoyed Bible studies.
She was preceded in death by her her parents, Isaac and Levita Butcher, 2 sisters, Glenda and Trina and her grandson, Kealin.
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, David Earl Purswell; her loving children, Teasa Barfoot (Kevin), Virginia Mims (Arthor), Jon-Paul Brown ( Jessica Fletcher), Brandon Brown, and Joey Purswell (Shaina); her grandchildren, Julie Brown, Kailyn Rae, Sevrin Brown, Summer Pierson, Turner Purswell, Vera Purswell, Gracie Mims, and Jacob Barfoot; great-grandchildren, Jace Hayes, Jacob Barfoot II, and Camilla Barfoot; her sister, Diane Brown; and her brother Terry Butcher, her mother-in-law, Jigger Purswell; and many other loving relatives and friends.
