Celebrating the Life of Ruby Parker Skrabanek
Ruby Parker Skrabanek, 92, was born on May 5, 1925 in Moulton, TX to parents Claude and Shirley Parker and went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 9, 2017.
Ruby was the second of four children and lived in Moulton, TX until she was 12 years old. On July 2, 1943, she married her loving husband Raymond Skrabanek. Ruby loved music and was a fan of polka and waltz. She had many hobbies and enjoyed dancing, gardening, genealogy, and participated in the senior Olympics. She loved going to church and was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church. She was known to be unselfish and strong, and was a loving and caring mother, wife, and friend.
Ruby was active in several organizations and clubs in her community: The Daughters of the Republic of Texas; Daughters of the American Revolution; SPJST (Lifetime Achiever Award); Flukinger Community Center; Red Hat Society; and the Girl Scouts Troup 1280.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Raymond Skrabanek; daughter, Mary; parents, Claude and Shirley Parker; and siblings, Jo Suttle, and June Moore.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Raymond Jr., and Larry; daughters, Shirley, Sandra, and Martha; brother, Calvin Parker; as well as her 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the San Jacinto Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be at the San Jacinto Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 1:00pm., with a graveside service to follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park.
