Mrs. Rosemary Richard's Obituary
Rosemary Hans Richard was born on November 17, 1928 in Arneckeville, Texas. She lived her early years in and around Texas with her loving parents and six siblings. She graduated from Navasota High School in 1945 and then moved to Houston where in 1946 she met Hilery "Frenchy" Richard. They were smitten the first week they met and were married on November 21, 1946 after a courtship of six months. She was married to him for the next 63 years until he went to heaven in January of 2010. She worked in the business world as a bookkeeper for a while during the first years of her marriage and then became a full time Mom. Besides being a wife and mother, she was a talented artist. She loved to paint and continued painting up until the end of her life. Many of us are blessed to have one of her paintings hanging in our homes. Her last painting was of her sweetheart husband in his navy uniform flashing that beautiful smile that we all know and love. Written in her high school yearbook in 1945, "What would we poor artless creatures do without Rosemary drawings". She has lived in her little house in Eastgate for the past two and half years with her children close by visiting often. She loved her little house and especially her flowerbeds. She loved "playing in the dirt" and worked in her gardens as often as she could. Her flowers were by far the prettiest on the road. When she was delivered the news in the hospital of her condition, she reached for the photo by her bedside of her beloved husband and said, "Well, I guess I'm coming to see you sooner than I thought". She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children on September 14, 2012. She is survived by her children and their spouses: DeeDee Hunter (Steve), Eddie Richard (Zaida), Leigh Ann Richard, Sherry Milliken (David), her sisters Tommie Lastavica, Joyce Wetuski, her brother John Hans, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her beloved husband and her eldest son, Ronnie.
