Roseanna "Roseanne" Zapata's Obituary
Roseanna “Roseanne” Lee Zapata, 61, returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 23, 2019, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends during the last days of her life.
Roseanne was born on June 15, 1957 in Saginaw, Michigan. At age 20, she moved to Texas where she resided in Baytown and Cloverleaf, Texas. She was a faithful woman and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Roseanne spent her career in the healthcare industry as a certified nurse assistant. She loved caring for others. For twenty years she worked for the Methodist Health Care System. She retired in 2017 from The Methodist Hospital Downtown. As a Methodist employee, Roseanne received numerous service awards honoring her dedication to patient care. She loved her job and Methodist family. Roseanne took great pride in taking care of her patients and helping her fellow co-workers. She touched the lives of many through her kindness and compassion.
Roseanne loved her husband and family very much. The birth of her two sons and grandchildren were among the most important events in her life. She loved nothing more than being a Nana and spending time with her sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to music, watching movies and the Christmas holiday season. She loved to travel “home” and visit her family in Michigan. Roseanne was a thoughtful and caring woman and never hesitated to help others in need. Her smile and laugh were contagious. Roseanne will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is proceeded in death by father Jose Sandoval Sr. (father), Teresa Oceguera (sister), and Lupe Zaragoza (step-father). Roseanne is survived by her husband of 19 years Roberto Zapata; Matthew James Cisneros (son) and Elvia Cisneros (wife), and Mark Anthony Cisneros (son); grandchildren, Macie Cisneros (20), Kyson Cisneros (10), Avery Cisneros (9), and Maddox Cisneros (6); mother, Lola Aguilar and step-father, Lorenzo Aguilar; sisters, Dorlyn Sandoval, Lola Zaragoza, Georgia Zaragoza, Patty Chingman and husband Ray Chingman; brothers, Jose Sandoval Jr., Matt Sandoval and wife Liz Sandoval, Mark Sandoval and Ismael Zaragoza.
