Ronald "Ronnie" "Papa" Eugene Vaughn's Obituary
Ronald Eugene Vaughn, 78, of Jacinto City, Texas was born on December 31, 1940 in Wichita Falls, Texas and entered into rest on Saturday, March 30, 2019.
Ronald was born to parents Lillian and Malcolm Vaughn. He attended Wichita Falls Senior High School and earned his high school diploma. After graduation, Ronald proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy . While there, he was stationed in Hawaii and Hong Kong where he served from 1960-1964.
On May 29, 1979, Ronald married Joyce Vaughn at the Justice of the Peace, and shortly after they went to Dairy Queen to celebrate their union.
Ronald was a hardworking man, after his service in the Navy he worked as a truck driver for Nortex Drilling, and went on to work as a supervisor for Clean Harbors from October 31, 1977 to October 30, 2009. After more than 20 years in his industry, Ronald retired in 2009 and began to enjoy time with his family. Ronald could usually be found sitting at his desk , smoking, drinking coffee, and reading the paper or doing his crosswords, he always had a story or a joke to tell and he always had an ear to lend and advice to give. He will be remembered for being loving, comedic, intelligent, accepting, and real.
Ronald is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Vaughn and parents, Lillian and Malcolm Vaughn, and son-in-law, Robert Wooten. He is survived by his daughters, Tanya Conley (Kenneth), Veronica Wooten, Katheryn Vaughn; sons, James Vaughn, Richard Sweeney (Teresa), Steve Sweeney; sister, Sherry Stevens (Gene); granddaughters, Cheyenne Herring, Megan Melcher (Doyle), Lakota Conley, Breanna Wooten, Hailey Wooten, Kaitlin Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, Meagan Vaughn, Sabrina Sweeny, Christina Sweeny; grandsons, Christopher Conley, James Wooten, Joshua Vaughn, Timothy Vaughn, Logan Sweeny, Malcolm Sweeny (Brooklyn), Bret Sweeny; cousin, Doug Taylor, and special friend, James Smith; and neighbors, The Brooks Family and the Mendez Family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday April 6, 2019 at San Jacinto Funeral Home at 11:00am.
