Roger Lyn Eden "Coach"'s Obituary
Roger Lyn Eden of Houston, Texas beloved Husband, Father, Son, Paw Paw and Friend entered eternal rest after a long and arduous battle with Alzheimer’s disease on November 4, 2019 at the age of 71.
Roger was born February 17, 1948 in Oklahoma to Jack and Martha Eden. Roger spent the rest of his days in the Sheldon community in Houston, Tx. Roger graduated from C.E. King High School in 1966 and shortly joined Millwright Local #2232 where he worked until he retired in 2003. Roger was also a member of Northshore Masonic Lodge #1353.
Perhaps Roger’s greatest passion was his work and dedication to Sheldon Football League and Sheldon Little League. His service began in 1967 when Roger began refereeing football games. In 1970, Roger began coaching the Sheldon Oilers and continued coaching and advising in the league until his health declined in 2010. In 2003, “Roger Eden Football Field” was dedicated to Roger to honor all the contributions he made to the league and to the community. “Coach Eden” touched numerous lives through his service and is fondly remembered as a kind, caring competitive man.
Roger is survived by his loving Wife Linda, Son Michael and his Wife Kim, Daughter Rebecca and Husband Andrea. Roger is survived by six Grandchildren that were his pride and joy: Andre Jr., London, Jayla, Kerrinton, Kobee and Koree Allen. He is also survived by his Mother Martha and numerous Nieces, Nephews, relatives and friends including his Cousin and Brother-in-law Charles Fletcher and Wife Jeanette who provided comfort and support to Roger up until his final days. Roger is preceded in death by his Father Jack and Brother Troy.
