Robert "Bobby" Garcia's Obituary
We are sad to announce the passing of Robert Garcia (Bobby) of Channelview. He died at age 71 on 7/24/23. Robert passed away surrounded by his loved ones. He was born 5/17/1952 to Rafael & Maria R. Garcia in Brownsville, Texas.
Robert was charming, funny, hard-worker, wonderful provider, a “TRUE” Girl-Dad, amazing Grandpa & loving Husband. He loved all his brothers and sisters very much: Alicia Salazar (+), Rafael Garcia (+), Rodolfo Garcia (+), Richard Garcia (+), Joaquin Garcia (+), Raquel Hendrix, Ma Dolores Merrell, Diana Clark, Ma Guadalupe Garza, Ma Cristina Del Campo, Tony Garcia & Benny Garcia. His Brothers & Sisters blessed him with numerous Nephews and Nieces whom he loved so much.
At a very young age he started to shine shoes and assist his family of 13 in any way that he could. He was always finding ways to make money so that he can provide anything that his family needed.
Growing up Robert was involved in many organizations: Boy scouts, Science club, Spanish club, Student Council and many others. He graduated from Brownsville High school in 1970, then attended Texas Southmost college.
He married Angelita (Angie) Reyna Gonzales on 8/20/1977 in Brownsville, Texas. They were a true testimony of what Soulmates really are; and treasured each other until his last breath. Together they built a loving family of three beautiful girls: Laura Galvan, Patricia Garcia, & Norma Garcia. He loved his girls so much and made sure they knew everything they needed to know from cooking, baking, changing a flat tire to casting & baiting their fishing rods. He loved cheering on the Houston Astros & everyone that knew him knew he was a “Die-Hard” Dallas Cowboys fan too!! He loved bowling, fishing, dancing, shopping, gambling, gardening and most importantly being a GRANDPA!
He had 7 grandchildren: Lindsey, Mark Jr (Mj), Adrian, Genevieve, Alyssa, Sophia & Ryan. He was in “Ahhh” when he got the Title of Grandpa. He loved all of them and literally kicked all 3 daughters to the curb when he got grandchildren, lol.
He had an infectious smile, great sense of humor and he was known for his neatly, trimmed thick mustache. He will be missed by us all but it will only be for a little while as he always told us not to cry for him “He would be alright,” rest in Paradise Robert Garcia.
