Mr. Richard Francis Fielding's Obituary
Richard Francis Fielding passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on December 15, 2016 in Baytown, Texas.
Richard was born January 27, 1937 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Frank and Adelaide Fielding. His family later relocated to Houston, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Barbara, on October 13, 1956. Richard and Barbara welcomed son Richard in 1960 and daughter Deniece in 1964. Richard worked for Houston, Lighting and Power (later becoming CenterPoint Energy) for 35 years, beginning by reading meters and later working his way to becoming the supervisor over the dispatching center for the company. He was highly respected by his colleagues as a dedicated employee, friend and mentor, and loved to keep in touch with those he worked with, even after he retired in 1992. Richard had many various interests, he loved to garden and he loved to spend time with his family and friends, he treasured his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
Richard is survived by his brother Donald Fielding, and his wife Margaret; son Richard Fielding and wife, Kathy; daughter Deniece Veach and partner, Gary Gilchrist; grandchildren Kristine Porter, Jennifer Cervantes, Lacey Theus, Shelby Fielding, Ashley Veach and Karl Veach; five great-grandchildren and many friends and loved ones. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Barbara and his brother, Kenneth Fielding.
Service arrangements have been made at San Jacinto Funeral Home, located at 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas. Visitation and service will be held from 9:30am to 11:00am on Saturday, December 17, 2016 with a graveside service immediately following at San Jacinto Cemetery.
