Rhonda Jean Callas' Obituary
Rhonda Jean Callas, 72, of Crosby, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 15, 1952, in Dugger, Indiana, to John and Margaret White, Rhonda's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and dedication.
On October 11, 1976, Rhonda married the love of her life, James Robert Callas, in Houston, Texas. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Rhonda spent 20 years as the warm and welcoming receptionist at Friendly Ford, where she greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word.
Rhonda had a flair for decorating, a passion for shopping, and a talent for cooking that brought joy to many. She was an avid fan of the Hallmark Channel, finding comfort in its heartwarming stories. Above all, Rhonda cherished the time spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her greatest joy was caring for her beloved "Big Daddy."
Rhonda is survived by her devoted husband, James Robert Callas of Crosby, Texas; her daughters, Jamie Lynn Herrera and Regina Brown, both of Crosby, Texas; her honorary daughter, Cindy Perez of Crosby, Texas; and her son, Luis Noe Herrera Sr. of Crosby, Texas. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Cheri (and husband Lenny Banks) of Channelview, Texas; her adored grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stebelton, Luis Herrera Jr., Caleb Lougue, Shawna Bodiford, Steven Niebauer, Logan Niebauer, Janine Arceo, and Amy Herrera; and her seven precious great-grandchildren.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret White; her brother, Johnny Mack White; her sister, Jeannie Vanzo; and her beloved aunt, Doris Magnetti.
Rhonda's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who will forever hold her memory close.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Rhonda's honor. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
