Reynaldo Valdez's Obituary
Reynaldo M. Valdez, 79, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2026.
Born on April 13, 1946, in Edcouch, Texas, Reynaldo lived a life rooted in love, laughter, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Valdez; his five daughters and three sons; and a family who adored him more than words can express. He is preceded in death by his son Reynaldo Valdez Jr and his grand-daughter Marisela Nereida Aguilar.
Reynaldo was a calm and steady presence — the kind of man who didn’t need to be loud to be felt. As a grandfather, he was especially sweet and gentle, always patient, always kind. He made his family feel safe, supported, and loved just by being himself.
If you knew him, you knew his humor. Reynaldo loved to joke and was famously responsible for everyone’s nicknames — and once you got one, it stayed with you for life. His playful teasing and quick wit were part of every family gathering, and his laughter is a sound that will be deeply missed.
He loved his coffee, never turned down something sweet, and enjoyed the simple joys of life. You could often find him watching his favorite black-and-white Westerns or laughing at The Three Stooges.
His family holds close the countless memories of his jokes, his calm advice, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us physically, the stories, laughter, and lessons he leaves behind will continue to live on through each of them.
A viewing will be held on March 6, 2026, with burial services on March 7, 2026, at San Jacinto Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
He will forever be loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
