Reyes "Reyna" Infante's Obituary
Reyes Infante, affectionally known as Reyna, went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2023 in
Cypress, Texas. She was born on January 6th 1925 in San Marcos, Texas to Catarino and Sotera
Espinosa, the youngest of 12 children. She married Juan Ynfante on July 11th, 1954 in Houston
Texas. She worked as a manufacturing assistant in Bama, Nabisco, & Medical Towers before
becoming a full-time housewife.
Reyna was an avid Astros fan and enjoyed seeing Spanish novelas. She loved caring for her
loved ones -making sure everyone was well-cared for, cooking fat, soft homemade flour tortillas
(at every meal!), and making fig jam from her beloved giant fig tree behind the garage. She was
really upset when her husband decided to cut it down without telling her! But she still continued
to iron all his clothes in spite of it (one of her specialties)! They both enjoyed dancing and
having barbeques while watching Houston wrestling.
Reyna was very terrified of thunderstorms, arising from being hit by a window during one when
she was young. She had a hall closet that she kept clear just so she could hide in it when it
rained; she would force anyone around to get into it with her.
She didn’t learn to drive until she was 40 so she liked to drive her daughter and friends to fun
places, that is until she got into an accident, and then gave up driving for good. Reyna also
enjoyed fishing, dressing up for Halloween, and seeing Dark Shadows, rooting for Barnabas and
Angelique.
Reyna is survived by her son, Juan Infante Jr. (Laura); daughter Stella Infante Guerrero (Leonard); 4
grandchildren: Shana (Jeff), Anthony, Emilio and Tyler (Brianna); 9 great grandchildren: Robert
(Healey), Allie (Jeff), Penelope, Angeline, Liam, Everly, Lily, Matthew and Sophia; and 1 great, great
grandchild: Tiana.
Reyna is also survived by her niece (Mary Jane) and nephew (Joe/Nuni) - whom she loved
dearly and thought of as her own, and extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents (Catarino & Sotera Espinosa), her husband (Juan Ynfante
Sr.), her son (Leo Ynfante), grandson (Leo Janaroe Ynfante), sister (Mary Chavez), and her
other siblings.
Pallbearers: Jeff Kachermeyer Ynfante, Robert DeSiqueira, Anthony Infante, Emilio Guerrero,
Tyler Infante, David Infante, Christopher Rios and Burt Chavarria.
Very special thanks to her granddaughter Shana, Jeff, and great-granddaughters Allie and
Penelope for extensive, loving and kind caring for Reyna.
In Honor of Reyna, whose favorite color was Red. If possible on Wednesday, the day of
internment, we ask that you wear something Red.
