Regino "Coy" Montoya's Obituary
On January 9, 2026, the gentle hands of time carried Mr. Regino Montoya, age 80, from this world to eternal rest. Born on November 26, 1945, in Weslaco, Texas, to Lazaro and Camila Montoya.
A proud veteran, he served his country with honor in the United States Army from April 1968 to April 1970, rising to the rank of Sergeant. After his service, Regino dedicated 25 years as a skilled pipe fitter with Brown and Root, building not only structures but a legacy of hard work and integrity.
Regino’s heart found joy in life’s simple treasures—watching football on quiet afternoons, casting a line into still waters, and cherishing moments with his beloved family. His laughter was a melody, his presence a comfort, and his love a gift that will echo through generations.
He leaves behind his sons, Alejandro Montoya and Adam Montoya of Houston, Texas; his sisters Luisa Montes of Mercedes, Texas, Camila Estrada and her husband Jesus of Galena Park, Texas, and Menchie Gonzalez of Galena Park, Texas; his brothers Israel Montoya and Juan Montoya of Bishop, Texas; and seven precious grandchildren—Sara, Samuel, Isabel, Valerie, Victoria, Avery, and Liam—who will carry his memory like a lantern in the dark.
Regino now joins those who went before him: Rafaela Moreno, Ignacio Montoya, Artemio Nieves, Larry Montoya, and Matilde Sordia. Though parted from us, his spirit lingers in every shared story, every cherished photograph, and every heart he touched.
The family warmly invites friends and loved ones to bring photographs and memories to celebrate the beautiful life of Mr. Regino Montoya—a life well-lived, a soul well-loved.
