Mr. Ramiro Barrera's Obituary
Ramiro Barrera, 73, was born on July 21, 1942 to the late Encarnacion and Julia Barrera in Harlingen, Texas and passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 30, 2015 in Houston, Texas. Ramiro was the youngest of 13 children and grew up in Harlingen, Texas and attended and graduated from Harlingen High School. After graduation, he began a career as a parts salesman. He retired in 2010 after serving for 20 years at Houston Freightliner.
Ramiro married the love of his life, Ms. Maria Ybanez on July 12, 1967 at Assumption Church in Harlingen, Texas. He served in the Army from 1967 to 1969 and was a member of American Legion Post 578.
Ramiro is survived by his wife Maria Barrera; daughters: Perla Barrera, Norma Gregory and spouse Steven Gregory and Monica Villanueva and spouse Joseph Villanueva; five grandchildren: Steven Gregory, Scott Gregory, Nicholas Gregory, Julia Villanueva and Natalee Gregory; brother in law Beniro Ybanez; sister in law Belen Gonzalez and Olga Montalvo and brother in law Romeo Barrera.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Chapel at San Jacinto Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 12:00 pm in the Chapel at San Jacinto Funeral Home, with interment to follow in San Jacinto Memorial Park.
