Ms. Queen Elizabeth Holmes-Heath's Obituary
Queen Elizabeth Holmes-Heath (Mama Queen) went home to her heavenly father at the age of 92 on June 15, 2016. She was born on August 1, 1923 to Willie and Leanna Holmes in Grayson, Louisiana and was the beloved wife of the late Attorney Millard Cashamarah Heath, Sr. During their union, they had eleven beautiful children. Queen graduated from Union Central High School in Columbia, Louisiana and attended Real Estate School. Queen was a loving mother, co-owner of Heath’s Barbecue and she provided an in-home daycare for many children over the years, including many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Queen loved gardening, baking, crafts, keeping up with current events and was an avid world traveler.
Queen Heath was preceded in death by her parents: Willie and Leanna Holmes; her beloved husband: Millard Cashamarah Heath, Sr.; son Gerry Gene Heath; sister Willie L. (Holmes) Smith; and her dearest nephew Willie Holmes. Queen is survived by her loving children: Sharon D. Heath-Lemond (Larry), Millard C. Heath, Jr. (Emma), Sterling Melvin Heath (Jean), Wanda F. Heath-Johnson (Guy), Beth L. Heath-Lee (Roy), Van Elijah Heath, Vickie Heath-Glosson (Thomas), Theodora E. Heath, Reginald L. Heath, Kay E. Heath-Noble (Arthur) and a plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and three nieces: Myrtle Luke, Shirley Ann Thomas and Faye Ashton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of San Jacinto Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, Texas 77015. Interment will be at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas at 2:00 pm.
