Placida Peralta Hortaleza's Obituary
Placida Peralta Hortaleza, (95) went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 12, 2020. She was born in Sta. Maria Pangasinan, Philippines, on October 11, 1925 to Pioquinto Peralta and Basilisa Ursua Peralta. She attended Sta. Maria Elementary School and later worked as a dressmaker.
Placida married Moises Orina Horataleza, on April 2, 1949 in the Philippines. They had 9 children. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Placida was a very thoughtful and always had an open heart. She always loved hosting family gatherings such as birthdays and holidays. Placida was a caring and wonderful wife and mother. She loved listening to Ilocano songs and playing cards.
Her few last words of Nanay for Tatay were, “Kumain ka para lumabas ka”, “I love you Tatay’. Tatay, replied, “I love you too”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Emilio Peralta Sr., Silvino Peralta, Francisa Alcantra, Juan Cortez, Joaqin Peralta, Ambrosio Peralta, Adriana Peralta, Eleuteria Peralta, Estanisalo Peralta’ son-in-law, Antonio D. Cadaing.
Placida is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Moises O. Hortaleza, Sr.; children, Rebecca H. Directo and husband Alberto, Zenaida H. Sibal and husband Federico A., Crisito P. Hortaleza and wife, Juanita B., Alma H. Cadaing, Manolita H. Abad and husband Dennis, Osmundo P. Hortaleza and wife Victoria F., Moises P. Hortaleza, Jr. and wife Elisa M., Bernardo P. Hortaleza, and wife Berma, and Rev. Father, Lazaro P. Hortaleza.
She is also survived by 21 granchildren, Jonathan Eric Sibal, Adonis Phillip H. Directo, Khristine Hortaleza-Antonio, Jericho Ryan Sibal, Jan Michael Hortaleza, Mel Deo Abad, Vanessa Katrina Sibal, Karla Erika Sibal, Nigel Paul F. Hortaleza, Dianne Joy Abad, David Brian Hortaleza, Rachel H. Directo, Gizelle F. Hortaleza, Joanna Liza H. Jones, Antonio H. Cadaing, Moises Albert H. Abad, Moises M. Hortaleza III, Camille Anne F. Horaleza, Jeanette M. Hortaleza, Jaizza M. Hortaleza, Breanna Hortaleza; 6 grandchildren-in-laws, Harold Antonio, Sheryl Sibal, Racquel Sibal, Ann Kathrina G.
