Survived by: Husband - Ervin N. Davis, Sister - Carol Graham, Sister-in-laws - Meg Murray and LaJuana Davis along with many cherished family members and friends.
Phyllis graduated from Channelview High School in 1977. She almost immediately began her career in the insurance business where she rose to the rank of Senior Vice President and served as an Energy and Marine Claims Manager at McGriff, Seibels & Williams. Phyllis was known for her diligence and hard work and was recognized by her peers and the clients she worked with. Her work family mattered very much to her. She stayed in touch with many of them after her retirement and would always smile while telling stories of their continued success.
Phyllis loved to travel and fish. She spent much time on the water at Sam Rayburn, but hauled in trophies at El Salto, Lake Falcon as well as the Amazon River. Her personal best Largemouth weighed in at 10.6 lbs. and her personal best Peacock Bass weighed in at 17.3 lbs. Phyllis traveled internationally to London, the Mediterranean, the Amazon, India, Peru, Australia and beyond. She really enjoyed her numerous Alaskan cruises. She and Ervin had many adventures including their fishing trips, white water rafting and zip lining trips, vacationing in Hawaii, skiing in Angelfire, NM and kicking up their heels in Nashville. She was once featured in an article in Popular Mechanics where she was known as Phyllis “the Texas Tree Hugger”.
Phyllis loved her extended family and many friends. The parties she hosted at their home in Mont Belvieu were legendary and not an affair one wanted to miss! She is gone from this world too soon, but leaves behind quite a legacy and stories too numerous to count.
