Born Petra Gallegos Valdez in Matamoros, Mexico on May 19, 1944 to Petra and Tiburcio Gallegos. Petra married the love of her life, Albert Ramirez in Brownsville, Texas on June 28, 1968. She was blessed with her first son Allen Rene Ramirez on March 7, 1970. Shortly after on February 19, 1971 her family was blessed with the birth of her second son Albert Ray Ramirez.
Petra lived a wonderful life surrounded by people that loved her dearly. She worked in many places including cosmetology, healthcare, Avon, and Shipley’s. At each job she held she made lifelong friends.
Allen and Mary Jane blessed her on June 19, 1991 when her first grandson Allen Rene Jr. was born, whose sister Amanda Rachelle followed on July 21, 1992. On October 5, 1991 her son Ray married Cecilia Limon, and with this she had a daughter. Petra endured the heartache o losing her son Allen on June 24, 1994. She was then blessed with a second granddaughter Victoria Cecilia Ramirez on September 21. 1994. On November 20, 1997 Petra was blessed yet again with a grandson Alec Sinjin Ramirez. On July 25, 1999 Petra lost her husband of 31 years, Albert Ramirez. On October 20, 2014 Petra’s grandbaby Alliyah Ramirez was born.
Petra was known as Chata or Momo to those who loved her. She loved frogs, slot machines, and bingo. She is loved dearly and will remain in our hearts and prayers until we meet again in heaven
