Mrs. Peggy Ruth Stone's Obituary
Peggy Stone, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died December 1 in Baytown, Texas. She was 71. Peggy lived her life with a never-ending love of family. Her greatest joy in life was seeing her children and grandchildren succeed in everything they did. But Peggy also enjoyed taking as many trips as possible to Las Vegas with her husband Herbie. Born Peggy Ruth Buchannan on May 22, 1941, in Pasadena, Texas, to Edna and Robert, Peggy grew up and lived, for all but two years, in the Houston area. Peggy graduated from the first class of South Houston High School in 1959. During her time at South Houston, Peggy met her husband of 53 years Herbert Stone. They were married in 1959, the summer after she graduated from high school. The next 53 years were spent with nothing but family in mind. She raised a husband, three children and four grandchildren. Those that knew her would describe her as being a selfless, loving person, but also one of the most hard-headed, caring people ever. Throughout her entire life she was the most strong-willed person in her family, guiding them through struggles and adversity to be the best people they could be.She loved to spend her time cooking and doing something only very few knew she could do art. She passed on an art scholarship in 1959 to be with future husband.Peggy is survived by her husband Herbie, her three children, Stormy, Junior and wife Kim, and Kathy, four grandchildren, Kyle, Kolin, Jordan and Cody, and her sister Carolyn and her family.
