Olga F Soliz's Obituary
Olga F. Soliz, age 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Robstown, Texas, on December 20, 1937, to Lupe and Juana Favela, Olga lived a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to her family.
She was married to Siprian B. Soliz, on August 2, 1959, in Robstown, beginning a journey of partnership and parenthood that would span decades. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and prayer.
Olga dedicated herself to her community through her work as a bus driver for Houston ISD, a greeter at Walmart, and a teacher’s aide at Family Christian Academy. Her greatest joy, however, came from her spiritual service. A devoted member of St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church for over 50 years, Olga taught First Communion classes for three decades, guiding countless children in their faith. Her daily prayers—morning and night—were a testament to her unwavering love for her family and her deep connection to God.
She is survived by her children: Teresa Gutierrez (Johnny), Susanna Soliz, Siprian Soliz (Jeri), Eduardo Soliz (Alicia), and Andrew Soliz; her siblings: Emma Gonzalez (Abundo), Elva Koerber (Mark), Rachel Favela, Delia Felan (Catarino), Elsa Ysassi (Martin), and Oscar Favela (Esperanza); her grandchildren: Matthew Soliz (Rikki), Melinda Raffloer (David), Johnny S. Gutierrez Jr. (Tabitha), Christopher Gutierrez (Marline), Michael Ramirez, Anthony Ramirez, John Michael Biles, Eddie Soliz Jr., Nichole Foster (Andrew), Moses Soliz, Alexandra Soliz, Andy Soliz Jr. (Crystal), and Marco Soliz; and her great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Kaedyn, Karsyn, Sebastian, Isabelle, Dominick, Heaven, Faith, Johnny III, Nealina, Aaliyah, Ember, Achilles, and Lourdes.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Siprian B. Soliz; her son, George Soliz; her parents, Lupe and Juana Favela; and her brother, Fernando Favela.
Olga’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched—with every prayer whispered, every child taught, and every act of kindness shared. Her memory will be cherished forever.
